Tecovas Brings Its ‘Radical Hospitality’ to Somerset Collection

Now open in Troy, this is the second Michigan location for the fast-growing Western wear retailer and its 60th location nationwide.

Tecovas, the Austin-based retailer known for its cowboy boots and top-tier customer service, has opened its latest storefront in Somerset Collection in Troy. This is the 60^th location the Western brand has opened in the United States and the second location in Michigan. The first Michigan location opened at Hudson’s Detroit in October 2025.

What to Know About Tecovas

Founded in 2015 by Paul Hedrick, Tecovas started just as a cowboy boot retailer before expanding to include Western-inspired apparel and accessories. His goal was simple: “Make better boots, the right way.”

To accomplish this, Tecovas boots are made by hand in a 200-step process. Additionally, Hedrick wanted exceptional customer service (referred to as “radical hospitality”) to be a prime focus of the brand. This aspect is especially important to first-time buyers of cowboy boots, and it’s demonstrated particularly during boot fittings. During boot fittings, many aspects are considered. Among them are how to properly put on cowboy boots, toe placement, heel fit, width, and more.

What to Expect from Tecovas at Somerset Collection

Located on Level 2 at Somerset North next to Pottery Barn, Tecovas — one of the fastest-growing Western wear retailers in the world — offers several complimentary services to its customers, including free boot shines. Also available are personalized leather stamping or leather branding on all leather accessories and boot stretching services to help provide the perfect fit. On top of that, customers can also enjoy complimentary beverages, including sparkling water and local beers.

Tecovas Hours and Grand Opening Event

Tecovas at Somerset Collection is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-6 p.m. The store is hosting a three-day grand opening event May 1-3. The first 50 shoppers on each day will receive a Tecovas gift bag. Each day of the event will also feature live music from Travis Bolt, who will be performing from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on May 1 and 2 and from 12-3 p.m. on May 3.
