This fall, one of Michigan’s most anticipated philanthropic evenings, is on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The Rugiero Promise Foundation will proudly celebrate the 15th anniversary of its iconic Casino Royale Gala at the elegant Monarch Ballroom at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth.
This year’s theme, “Fabulous Las Vegas,” promises an electrifying evening of high style, entertainment, and purpose — all in support of a future free from diabetes.
Where Celebration Meets Impact
Event Chairs- Tiffany and George Stolzenfeld invite you to a glamorous evening, Casino Royale where Michigan’s business leaders, philanthropists, and changemakers unite for a common cause: to fuel groundbreaking diabetes research and care at Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan.
Over the years, this extraordinary event has raised millions, directly funding advancements in treatment, prevention, and quality of life for those living with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
A Vegas night inspired by the late Antonio Rugiero Sr.
Casino Royale features upscale casino games and headlining entertainment to curated cocktails and a world-class culinary experience. This year’s event will transform the ballroom into a vibrant celebration of generosity, innovation, and community spirit.
Guests can expect dazzling live performances by Mark Randisi Band, Neo Classical Violins, and Brian Alexander Band, alongside live and silent auctions, luxury prizes, and a strolling supper.
Beyond the Spectacle: Real Results, Real Change
While the evening is filled with excitement, the true power of Casino Royale lies in its unwavering commitment to transparency and measurable outcomes.
Last year, sponsors were invited behind the scenes to “Come See Where the Money Goes” at Michigan Medicine. They met with leading researchers like Dr. Peter Arvan and his team, touring labs and gaining insight into the life-changing work their donations support — from innovative therapies to clinical breakthroughs that are already transforming lives in Michigan and beyond.

15 Years of Vision, Leadership, and Legacy
Founded in 2011 by Anthony Rugiero, the Rugiero Promise Foundation was born from a personal connection to diabetes and a heartfelt promise to give back.
“A vow of gratitude became our mission,” said Rugiero. “To never stop helping those less fortunate.”
Run entirely by volunteers, the Foundation has become a cornerstone of Michigan philanthropy. Beyond Casino Royale, it supports a range of charities while funding research and establishing an endowment focused on Diabetes Research. Anthony’s mission is to make the Rugiero Promise Foundation a household name when speaking of a cure for Diabetes.
Because of Anthony’s’ Charitable work and leadership
On May 19 in New York City, He was formally invested into the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, one of the oldest and highest Catholic orders of knighthood aside from ordination. It was a deeply humbling experience to be recognized alongside a small group of others who are committed to serving the Church and community with faith, charity, and leadership. This investiture is not only a personal recognition but also a reflection of the people, values, and experiences that have shaped his journey
But the mission is far from over.
Your attendance and support of Casino Royale will directly accelerate life-changing research and bring us closer to a cure. For tickets, sponsorships, or more information, visit RugieroPromise.org.

More than a Family Business
Anthony Rugiero is the CEO and President of a beloved group of five authentic Italian family restaurants that have been proudly serving the community for over 60 years. Built on tradition, passion, and the strength of family, where Mama Rita and over a dozen family members work in the restaurants, making them a true staple in the community.
The Rugiero family lives by their heartfelt motto, Tiriamo Avanti™—which means “we always move forward.” It’s a powerful reminder to stay resilient in difficult times and believe that a positive spirit in God will prevail. As a successful businessman, Anthony has carried this mindset beyond the restaurant walls, supporting charitable causes that give back to the very community that has supported his family for decades.
At the heart of everything they do is a deep commitment to faith, family, and tradition—values that are lovingly passed down from generation to generation. Their restaurants are more than places to eat; they are where generations of families come together to celebrate milestones, share Sunday dinners, and create lasting memories.
