You can’t miss the building… a beautiful, Victorian style house right on Little Mack. It may seem out of place, but the rich memories and an official stamp as a historical landmark prove that it is just where it is supposed to be. Over the last 150 years, The Ardmore has had multiple personalities, including a farm and family home, a lodge for dining and dancing, a gambling house and bordello, a furniture store, and an intimate café. Lucky for us, we are alive during its revival, where it has been turned back into a restaurant with new owners, a new menu, but the same charm it has always had.
The Ardmore is a dream for anyone who loves a little bit of historic magic. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with photos, mementos, and architecture that make you feel like you took a time machine to the 1800s (with a bit of modern plumbing and technology, of course).
One of the highlights of the beautiful building that is The Ardmore is their wide variety of event spaces, which is what it is probably best known for. Throughout the years, The Ardmore has had the honor of hosting a multitude of showers, birthday parties, retirement parties, and more, all with beauty and excellence. The intimate dining experience that The Ardmore provides allows for complete privacy for any party. Featuring six separate dining rooms, their main event room can host up to 50 people, while the most intimate is a private room for 10. Additionally, the mansion can easily be transformed into a small wedding venue for up to 48 guests plus the wedding party.

Aside from the private events mentioned above, they also host several public events throughout the year. Most notably their brunches on Easter and Mother’s Day, and semi-regular Saturday Teas, which sell out each time without fail. What most people don’t realize, though, is they are also a fully functioning restaurant, serving lunch and dinner, Wednesday-Saturday.
If the atmosphere alone is a reason to visit, the food is the reason you stay and keep coming back! Chef Emily has created dishes that fit everyone’s taste buds. Whether you stop in for a quick lunch or a relaxing night out with a loved one, there is a meal for you. Her carefully crafted menu reflects classic and traditional dishes, while also expressing her love of cooking and her creative mind. Although, a meal wouldn’t be complete without a drink, and there is plenty to choose from with The Ardmore’s full bar!

Many patrons often mention how grateful they are for The Ardmore being attentive and welcoming to their guests. There are multiple gluten-free and vegetarian options available on their menu, and several of their signature cocktails are offered as mocktails upon request. Anyone who comes to dine with The Ardmore is automatically treated like family, and it’s a call that the owners and staff don’t take lightly.
The Ardmore is located in Saint Clair Shores, only 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Detroit. It serves lunch and dinner, Wednesday-Saturday, with seating available 11:00 am-2:30 pm and 5:00-8:30pm. They have several special events coming up that will be announced soon. Reservations are highly encouraged when dining with them.
