On Sunday, August 16th, Eastern Market’s Shed 5 will transform into Metro Detroit’s ultimate destination for grilled food lovers. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., guests will experience an afternoon packed with bold flavors, refreshing beverages, live entertainment, lawn games, and some of the region’s most talented culinary professionals.
Returning to Eastern Market
GrillFest returns this year to Detroit’s historic Eastern Market District. The open-air setting provides the perfect backdrop for an afternoon dedicated to everything cooked over an open flame.
Local chefs, restaurants, and vendors will showcase signature grilled creations, each putting their own creative spin on classic barbecue favorites and innovative grilled bites. Whether you’re craving smoky barbecue, gourmet burgers, flame-kissed vegetables, or unique culinary creations, there’s something for everybody.
Prepare your Tastebuds for the Best Bite Competition
One of the most anticipated moments of the day is the Best Bite Competition!
As you make your way through the market, you’ll have the opportunity to sample featured dishes from participating grill vendors and cast your vote for the creations that impressed you most. Every guest gets to put on their judge’s hat and help determine which vendors earn the coveted Gold, Silver, and Bronze Best Bite Awards.
