The Healthy Option: Naked Burger adds in the flavor and freshness, minus the chemicals and additives

No, Naked Burger isn’t about being bun-less. It’s about being all natural, all fresh and free of chemicals and additives. The term “naked” means you start with Piedmonte grass-fed beef and add in flavor – not chemicals. Naked Burger is a concept centered around healthy living and healthy eating that tastes great. Yes, you can have both even with the bun!

Goran Dimic, along with business partner and co-owner Brandon Gorgies, opened their first restaurant, Naked Burger in Clinton Twp., on March 3, 2020 – just days before every restaurant in the country was shut down because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but that didn’t stop them. Dimic and Gorgies created Naked Burger from the ground up with the concept of bringing a new light to the burger world with their “craft from scratch” foundation.

When the Covid restrictions were lifted, Naked Burger was ready. And when business started to take off and sales and popularity began to rise in Clinton Twp., the duo decided to open a second location in Rochester Hills, which opened on Sept. 20, 2021.

“The concept of Naked Burger is about being healthy and eating healthy and it’s something Brandon and I live our lives by,” Dimic says. “The term naked means you start with Piedmonte grass-fed beef and no chemicals. We even use a smallbatch baker for our buns who doesn’t put any chemicals in the dough.”

They make all their sauces and soups in-house, smoke their own wings and only use sea salt and fresh ground black pepper. “We only use the best and freshest lettuce, tomatoes, onions and hand-cut our own fries,” Dimic says.

The bar area has a New York or Chicago feel with some amazing cocktail choices – and like the food, the focus is on fresh. “We juice all of our juices and create our own homemade syrups for our cocktails,” says Dimic. “Everything we do is top quality.”

Naked Burger offers several daily specials including Truffle Tuesday, Wine Wednesday (half off all wine bottles), Thirsty Thursday ($3 off all cocktails) and Happy Hour All-Day Sunday.

Naked Burger’s appetizers include Five Cheese Mac, Chicken Tenders (try the truffle ranch), Bang Bang Shrimp, Buffalo Wings, and the very popular and unique Hand Battered Mozz Sticks. There also is a wide and delicious variety of hand-cut fries and sliders.

The main menu features burgers – of course. The Hangover (with a sunny egg), Late Night Smash (two patties), Truffle Burger and Naked Burger (with the amazing naked sauce) are among the popular choices. They also offer a number of sandwiches, including Chick Mac-Net, Sorry Mary (lamb), Chick Flick (grilled chicken), Off The Hook (breaded Atlantic cod) and more.

Dimic and Gorgies are more than just owners of Naked Burger. They built everything in both locations by hand, including the bar, floors, kitchen, tables – “everything but the chairs,” Dimic says.

“Brandon and I have known each other since we were teenagers and have learned a lot together during this process,” Dimic says. “We have done every role in the restaurant, from cooking to bartending to bookkeeping to cleaning up.” But it’s all been worth it, because as Dimic says, “We’re trying to do the right thing.”

“We are very passionate about what we do by providing our customers with the healthiest, freshest and tastiest food and drink choices in Michigan,” he says. “We care about our customers and their health the same way we care about our own family’s health. The goal at Naked Burger is to leave you feeling great after your meal, knowing that you’ve enjoyed burgers and fries made right and clean.”
