When it comes to cosmetics, the focus is shifting from our faces to our fingertips. Nails are having a major moment, and makeup giant MAC is feeding the frenzy with the release of its first permanent collection of nail lacquer.

“We support hundreds of fashion shows, and we were starting to see an increased emphasis on nails over the last few seasons,” Guillaume Jesel, senior vice president of global marketing for MAC Cosmetics, told Women’s Wear Daily in June. “Also, nails are the fastest-growing segment of U.S. prestige makeup. … Nail color is an affordable indulgence and women continue to trade up in it.”

Available in 30 colors ranging from Faint of Heart, a pale nude, to Nocturnelle, a rich true black, the collection offers three finishes: cream, pearl, and frost, and a clear topcoat. The lacquers retail for $16 each and are available at all MAC locations beginning Aug. 2.
