Jack White’s first ever concert at Pine Knob Music Theatre this weekend is sold out. But fans who couldn’t secure a ticket can stream it online through Nugs, a subscription-based streaming service, per an announcement online. The service costs $5 a month and is currently offering the first three months free for new members. Fans can access the stream at nugs.net/jackwhite.
The Main Stage
Jack White is stopping by Pine Knob on July 25 in support of his new album Frozen Charlotte. White is giving shine to two notable local bands on the opener list. Easy Action is a legendary Detroit punk band fronted by John Brannon (Negative Approach, Laughing Hyenas). The other opener, Prostitute, is an up-and-coming Dearborn-based noise rock band whose debut, Attempted Martyr, received notable praise from Pitchfork and The Needle Drop. The main stage openers are anticipated to start at 7:50 p.m.
Third Man Records Jack White Takeover
While the main stage opens at 7 p.m., Third Man Records announced an exclusive Jack White takeover with a Third Man Records curated stage in Pine Knob’s UWM West Entrance Parking Lot. The stage will feature performances at 5:20 p.m. from TY and Dori Detroit, the Third Man Records’ Rolling Record Store, as well as reduced-priced refreshments: $6 beers and $2 hot dogs. The parking lot — where fans are invited to tailgate — opens at 2:30 p.m., but gates don’t open until 5 p.m.
Phones? Forget It.
Known for his love of analog and the fact that he hasn’t owned a cell phone until last year, White continues to enforce a no-phones policy at his shows. Upon arrival, staff will assist attendees to help put phones into a lockable pouch, which the attendee keeps throughout the night. If the phone owner needs to use their phone, they must go to a designated phone use area to unlock the pouch.
