At the Lacy School of Business at Butler University, academic rigor is intentionally paired with real-world experience. From their first days on campus, students are immersed in authentic business environments that transform theory into practice and prepare them not just for careers but for immediate impact.
The Lacy curriculum is built on an experiential learning model that connects students, faculty, and more than 5,000 corporate partners. Signature programs such as the First-Year Business Experience and Sophomore Real Business Experience place students on collaborative teams to solve sustainability challenges, launch and manage real companies, and pitch ideas to industry professionals and mock investment panels. These experiences build résumés with tangible results long before graduation.
Career development is woven throughout the four-year journey, which includes two required internships and personalized mentorship through Butler’s structured career program. Students also gain hands-on experience through student-led enterprises, global study opportunities, and nationally recognized initiatives such as the Student-Managed Investment Fund, which oversees millions of dollars from Butler’s endowment.
With a 99% graduate placement rate, international opportunities across six continents, and a philosophy rooted in learning by doing, the Lacy School of Business puts students in the real world before they ever leave campus.
