In 2026, The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse ranked University of Detroit Mercy among the nation’s top 50 universities. UDM ranked No. 36, which makes it the top-ranked independent university in Michigan and the No. 2 Catholic university in the Midwest. Additionally, two UDM programs rank among the best in the nation according to the 2026 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs ranking: UDM’s online MBA in management program (No. 8) and online master’s in nursing program (No. 72). The university also ranked No. 22 nationally in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Colleges edition for Best Value Schools. In 2025, the Physician Assistant Education Association recognized UDM’s physician assistant program as the top in the country. Detroit Mercy Law also launched a fully online Juris Doctor degree in fall 2025, the first in Michigan. ν
