On Feb. 9, the Detroit Institute of Arts hosted its Black History Month celebration at the museum, with the Detroit Pistons players and staff being the guests of honor. Following a cocktail hour that encouraged guests to walk through fashion designer Isabel Toledo’s ’Labor of Love’ exhibit, attendees heard a speech from Pistons Vice Chairman Arn Tellem, that recognized outstanding African-American leaders. They later enjoyed a seated dinner and a shopping event sponsored by Neiman Marcus.
