The sisters-in-law, AKA the Veronicas, behind Veronica Beard, a modern luxury fashion retailer that offers a combination of classic, chic, and eclectic goods, opened their first Michigan location at Somerset Collection on May 15.
Located across from Shinola and Alo, which also opened its first Michigan location last November, Veronica Beard offers everything from dresses featuring hand-beaded designs to Italian stretch linen pants. They also sell a variety of footwear, including sandals, flats, boots, and sneakers, as well as swimwear, matching sets, handbags, sunglasses, and more.
Since opening their first location in New York City in 2010, co-founders Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard have expanded their national footprint and opened several others in Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, Boston, and more. Their Michigan store is the 40th location for the brand, and one that they say they are really excited to open.
“Somerset Collection has long been a go-to for fashion in the Detroit area, and we love the mix of culture, creativity, and confidence we see in the women here,” the Veronicas told Hour Detroit.
The store, designed in collaboration with interior designer Carolina de Neufville, who has designed all of their boutiques, features vintage finds and organic textures, like the raffia wallpaper. The store also features herringbone floors, floral accents, backlit displays, and is anchored by a beautiful sitting area with a sofa and two striped cushioned chairs
To celebrate their grand opening, the store will be serving drinks and offering complimentary on-site handbag and sneaker painting, done by local fashion artist Nicole Jarecz, on May 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those who want to participate are asked to RSVP by emailing somersetRSVP@veronicabeard.com.
