There’s a new female-owned coffee shop in town and it’s like nothing we’ve seen before. Anna’s Café is a charming little espresso bar on wheels that serves up all our favorite espresso-based drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos and americanos.
Owner Stefani Jakubowski, a self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast, started Anna’s Café simply because she wanted to make good coffee available at special occasions. “I love espresso and the whole experience of the espresso bar at a coffee shop. I wanted to bring that experience out of the traditional coffee shop and into unexpected locations and special occasions.”
Stefani named her business after her late Yiayia’s (Greek grandmother’s) restaurant. “I was very close with my Yiayia, Anna, and I have always felt connected to and inspired by her story. I thought it would be really special to carry on her legacy through a modern perspective.”
The espresso bar is fully mobile, operating out of a little three-by-six-foot bar cart with a state-of-the-art espresso machine and coffee grinder, just like what you’d see at a local coffee shop. It has a modern design and is decorated with a cool neon sign that reads “espresso bar.” The sign can be displayed in any color, making it an eye-catching feature at any event. It’s also embellished with tiny potted plants and thoughtful touches, making it feel like a true, local coffee shop experience.
“I take great pride in our product,” Stefani explains. Every drink by Anna’s Café is expertly crafted with the highest quality ingredients, ensuring quality, complexity, and balance in every cup. And each cup is adorned with latte art, a detail we love. “Some coffee catering companies use low-grade pod-based espresso machines, and I wanted to differentiate by serving up real espresso, made with a top-of-the-line machine and fresh ground, locally roasted coffee beans.”
Stefani is committed to using ethically sourced and locally roasted coffee beans. “I partner with a few local roasters that are experts at their craft and know everything about where their green coffee comes from and the farmers that produce it. I’m a big believer in collaboration over competition.” She even has her very own private roaster, who created a house blend exclusively for Anna’s Café named “Yiayia’s Blend.” The use of sustainable products is also a top priority for the business, setting it apart from other coffee catering companies.
