Cheers to Traverse City Beer Week

Mark your calendars for November 7-15, because Traverse City Beer Week is almost back! With 25 microbreweries and growing, the craft brew scene in the TC area is hoppin’. Traverse City Beer Week is a week-long celebration of the grooviest brews in Michigan.

The free, mobile Beer Week Passport guides suds sippers through a tour of taprooms, breweries, pubs, and restaurants. Check in to participating locations for the chance to win prizes… for enjoying craft beer… does it get better than that? Special deals, theme days, unique events, and exquisite brews make TCBW a cherished local tradition. Short’s, Farm Club, Right Brain Brewery, and the Workshop will even have exclusive Beer Week offerings on tap. Grab a friend and tour your way through the city.

    TCBW Events

Calling all craft beer aficionados! Completing tour check-ins isn’t the only way you’ll be celebrating. Six local businesses will be hosting epic events all week to test your beer IQ, introduce you to new brews, play games, and make memories.

The 2025 IPA Challenge is going down at The Little Fleet, the iconic food truck venue. 11 local breweries make an IPA; you taste them blind and vote for your favorite. The winner takes home the trophy and bragging rights.

Put your skills to the test at the Brew Bee, a beer spelling bee, hosted by Right Brain Brewery. Or try your palate at the Mystery Beer Flight Challenge at K&A Hop Dogs: Northern Michigan’s First Dog Friendly Pub. Head to Short’s Pull Barn for Beer Week Bingo and brewery tours of the Elk Rapids facility. Get your growler in the game!

On Saturday, November 15, Flapjack and Flannel Festival will close out Beer Week with a bang. Over ten tasty beverage vendors, sweet & savory flapjacks, BBQ, chili, and live music will be taking over the woods at Timber Ridge Resort. Bring out your best Paul Bunyan attire for the Jack Pine Lumberjack Show (get your pup a matching flannel, because this festival is dog friendly).

    Theme Days

No good party is complete without a theme. Every day of Beer Week has an aptly named theme to make the festivities even more fun! Each day highlights an individual style of beer, so make sure to participate in your favorites.

    • Friday, November 7: Pilsner Party
    • Saturday, November 8: Lager Love
    • Sunday, November 9: Blonde Moments
    • Monday, November 10: Brown Sugar
    • Tuesday, November 11: The Red Zone
    • Wednesday, November 12: Twist of Flavor
    • Thursday, November 13: Hop Harvest
    • Friday, November 14: Porterhouse Party
    • Saturday, November 15: Stout Showdown

    Where to Stay

Whether you’re here all week or just for a couple days, there is a perfect place for everyone to book a Beer Week stay. Waterfront hotels, rustic cabins and cottages, resorts, downtown condos, bed & breakfasts, and historical properties are among the diverse lodging options. And yes, Traverse City offers many different pet-friendly options, because Beer Week wouldn’t be the same without our furry friends.

    Local Transportation

No car, no problem. Traverse City offers lots of transportation options so you can safely enjoy TCBW to the fullest. For a private shuttle experience, check out the Brew Bus, Lakeshore Shuttle, Grand Traverse Tours, and more. BATA provides Link on Demand, a ride-hailing service like Uber or Lyft. Track and ride BATA’s Bayline, the free bus route around town.

Be sure to download the mobile Beer Week Passport as soon as it’s done brewing. Sign up here to get a digital copy sent to your inbox when ready. Hop to it!
