In recent years, TikTok has become a social media platform for everything from style inspiration, brand deals, and pop culture, to raising awareness on global social and political movements. Now, TikTok is a tool for applying to jobs at high-profile companies — including the Detroit Pistons.
On Wednesday, the app launched TikTok Resumes, a national pilot program in which users can make creative videos that introduce themselves, outline their skillsets and job experiences, and display why they’re the right fit for the job — just like you would in a traditional resume. When posting their video, users must include the hashtag #TikTokResumes in their caption. From there, they copy the link to their video and head to the Tik Tok Resumes website to submit it to the job opening they’re interested in. Users can apply for positions in digital marketing, sales, operations, and more at companies like Target, Shopify, and NASCAR.
The Detroit Pistons is the first professional sports team to work with TikTok Resumes and is using the program to find someone for a few of its latest openings — one being creative innovation intern for Big Sean, who became the NBA team’s first-ever creative director of innovation last December.

The intern will work 20 hours a week on tasks such as brainstorming brand activations, supporting the Pistons’ marketing staff and TikTok Committee, booking entertainment acts for game nights, and working on lifestyle collaborations with influencers, according to the job posting.
“I’m looking for someone that’s passionate; someone that’s about that basketball culture; somebody that knows music and lifestyle marketing,” Big Sean says in a video uploaded to the Detroit Pistons’ TikTok page. “I am looking — so if you know anybody, if it’s you, come work with me and the Pistons. You know we got the No. 1 draft pick.”
Folks can apply for the Pistons internship and other roles posted by the team — which include producer/editor, premium seating executive, account executive of business development, and director of ticket sales for Motor City Cruise — through July 31.
