Detroit Burger Week is just days away from kicking off, featuring some of metro Detroit’s most popular restaurants serving up special burgers at a reduced price between $7-$10. The editorial staff at Hour Detroit, like many of our readers, are looking forward to indulging in a wide variety of patties, toppings, and flavorful sauces. Here are the burgers they are looking forward to trying during Detroit Burger Week.

This Clawson girl has to support the Clawson joint. No. 1 because that’s how we do things and No. 2 because I love Gus’s Snug and the sound of their Candy Bacon Cheeseburger. It’s a fancy version of a bacon cheeseburger, made with some of my favorite ingredients, namely smoked Gouda cheese, candied bacon (house-made, of course), and artisan greens on a warm salted pretzel bun. Plus, I know that whatever kind of burger it is (their regular menu features Angus beef, Piedmontese, and Waygu) it’s going to be great. With normal prices between $16-19, you can’t beat the $8 price.

A number of the burgers featured during Detroit Burger Week sound really good, but the one I really want to try is the French Onion Burger at Great Dane Pub in Royal Oak. I love French onion soup, but I just can’t enjoy soup during the hot summer months. However, combining caramelized onions, bacon, and Gruyère cheese atop a Wagyu patty? Sold!

I can certainly vouch for the burgers at O’Connor’s Public House (Chef Brock knows how to throw down). All this said, the burger I’m most curious to try during Burger Week is the Surf and Turf Smashburger from Table No. 2 in Greektown. It’s not too often you see land meet sea on a burger (unless you’re ordering off a secret menu). They just went for it: two Angus beef smash patties and grilled shrimp.

The burger I’m most excited to try is Kozy Lounge’s Kat Burger. I’ve frequented the Hazel Park bar for years, but still haven’t tried this staple. The combination of Swiss cheese, grilled jalapeños, and honey is enticing, and could be just what my lackluster shuffleboard game is missing.

I already have my Burger Week mapped out! There are tons of good burgers to try, but I’m especially looking forward to High Pointe Burger Jointe’s three deals. A thin patty dripping with sauce is my kind of burger. I can’t choose between the chicken bacon ranch, chili crunch with garlic aioli, and hot honey, so I’ll have to try all three!
