CRAFT WORK // The arrival of chef Aaron Solley has injected fresh life into this attractive West Village spot on the ground floor of the Parkstone Apartments. He works well with proprietor Hubert Yaro, and they’ve edited what was always a brief menu to an even more succinct length. Chef Solley is making as many ingredients as possible in house, including marinades and yogurt. The contemporary American fare includes pasta with littleneck clams, white wine, shallots, capers, garlic, and lemon; fried chicken with bacon-braised greens and mashed potato; and a notable burger in two beef varieties: Angus and wagyu. VAST KITCHEN AND BAR // Chef Nicole Justman heads the kitchen at this fresh spot that brings a touch of Birmingham to Shelby Township. The chef and proprietor Sally Gravat and other staff members all worked together in the Cameron Mitchell restaurants. This 95-seat space includes a central bar and nicely appointed tables. A contemporary American menu includes glazed salmon, shrimp stir-fry, filet mignon, and at the top of the heap, a 20-ounce cowboy rib-eye.
