HOT SPOT: RED CROWN //

With its red-tiled roof and cream brick facade, the new Red Crown restaurant is becoming an east-side hit. The former gas station has been transformed into a casual restaurant and, judging by the crowds, you might think they were still selling gas at 1930s prices. Red Crown packs ’em in to the service pit for a solid menu of baby back ribs from their in-house smoker, grilled meatloaf, hamburgers, and fish & chips, along with Southern-style sides of braised greens and mac & cheese. Their house cocktail is the Moscow Mule, served in a copper mug.
