5th Annual Love in Motion
Nonprofit social enterprise Mend on the Move held its fifth annual Love in Motion fundraiser on March 5 at Leon & Lulu in Clawson. The evening featured dinner by chef Matt Prentice, entertainment by local singer-songwriter Olivia Dear, and a pop-up of Mend on the Move jewelry. Proceeds benefited the nonprofit.
14th Annual Snowflake Social
The Shelby Community Foundation held the 14th annual Snowflake Social on Feb.28. The theme of this year's event was Amethyst, and guests were encouraged to don purple gala attire. Proceeds went toward scholarships and community enhancement programs in Shelby Township.
Go Red for Women Luncheon 2020
The American Heart Association held the Go Red for Women Luncheon on Feb. 21. The 16th annual event took place at Little Caesars Arena, and featured WDIV Local 4 news anchor Kimberly Gill as the emcee and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as the keynote speaker. Go Red for Women aims to bring awareness to cardiovascular diseases. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Heart Association.

Crazy for a Cause
The charitable Crazy for a Cause event was held on Jan. 23 at Saks Fifth Avenue in Troy. Hosted by Saks and Yan International Chinese New Year, the event featured live art demonstration, a performance by Ballet Edge Detroit, Asian dragon and wooden dolls shows, and fashion makeover shows. The event partnered with Henry Ford Cancer Institute's Game on Cancer Campaign, and 10% of retail sales at Sakes were donated to the charitable cause.
