Ash—Bar, a new restaurant located on the second floor of Detroit’s Siren Hotel, has brought a new atmosphere to enjoy cuisine and beverages in since its opening back in June of 2023 .
The menu is designed to capture the “spirit of the quintessential European cafe seen through an Americana lens” and is created by Chef Scott Martinelli, according to their press release. This old-aged dining bar features a breakfast, lunch, dinner and an Aperitivo menu, as well as the “Breakfast du Weekend” served until mid-afternoon on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition to eats, the bar features exclusive drinks and cocktails led by the Siren’s Food & Beverage Director, Nick Arone. Sip and savor “classic cocktails, freezer-batched martinis, and heritage producers.”
And the atmosphere savors and embodies the spirit of Detroit’s boom era, which was “a time when Victorian formality was out, and embracing modernity’s thrilling, fast, and liberated culture was in.”
Ash—Bar Detroit also “features its own hand-painted mural crowning the room—with an ode to the glory days of the motor city and stylized scenes of industrial might” that is inspired by the W.P.A (Works Progress Administration) murals.
The Siren Hotel features roots within Detroit too, having been cultivated from the “Wurlitzer building, which had a rich history in Detroit’s cultural scene as a store and manufacturer for musical instruments upon its opening in 1926.”
Ash-Bar was first born in Baltimore, but now has placed its roots down in Detroit. This all-day restaurant accompanies coffee, fresh bites, and classic drinks. Ash-Bar is open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
