Gravy/Burger at Batch Brewing Co.

Brooklyn Street Local co-founder Jason Yates is embarking on a new food venture called Gravy/Burger. Brooklyn Street Local and Gravy/Burger will be popping up at Corktown neighbor Batch Brewing Co. from 5-9 p.m. Wednesdays throughout December. Burgers, naturally, make up most of the menu with offerings like cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, chopped cheese or mushroom chopped cheese sandwiches, and the eponymous Gravyburger: an open-faced patty on sourdough, roasted sweet potato, fried onions, pea pesto, and gravy. And yes, poutine is on the menu. Through the end of December. Batch Brewing Co., 1400 Porter St., Detroit; facebook.com/brooklynstreetlocal

Val’s Pizza at FrameBar

This traveling pizzeria pop-up makes its signature pies on site with its own wood-fired oven, which is a Herculean task in the dead of winter. But those missing their Val’s Pizza fix can find the pop-up and its thin-crust Neapolitan pies at Frame this winter. The popular pepperoni with honey is on the menu along with a roasted radish pizza with brown butter, pesto, and lemon ricotta. Round out your meal with a chicory salad and cannoli ice cream. Make a reservation, post up at the bar or heated patio, or pick up your pizza to-go. Feb. 9-March 6. FrameBar, 23839 John R Road, Hazel Park; joebar.com
