Following last month’s debut of The Statler French-American Bistro — a new downtown Detroit restaurant from Joe Vicari Restaurant Group, the hospitality company behind Andiamo, Joe Muer Seafood, and other local spots — the eatery’s shop, The Statler Market, has opened its doors.

The market specializes in fresh and convenient grocery and meal options.  The shop carries grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and soups, as well as Andiamo sauces, pasta, cheese, power bars, ice cream, bottled and canned drinks, and wine and beer. A barista is also at the market serving brewed coffee, cappuccinos, and lattes, and in the morning, customers can also pick up fresh croissants, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches.

Located across from Grand Circus Park at 313 Park Ave., both the market and the restaurant, which offers a menu with contemporary twists on French cuisine, are based on the first floor of the City Club Apartment building. The site was once home to the historic Statler Hotel, which hosted many notable guests during its years in business. The name of the market and restaurant honors this history.

The Statler Market is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Valet parking is available for $10, street parking is outside the restaurant, and a parking garage is attached to the restaurant as well.
