On Oct. 3, The Heidelberg Project held its 40th anniversary gala at The Shepherd in Detroit. The event honored the 40th anniversary of this unique Detroit institution and helped raise funds for the artistic and community organization, which is physically represented by the renown outdoor art project located on Heidelberg St. in the McDougall-Hunt neighborhood on Detroit’s east side. Future plans for the Heidelberg Project include constructing a new revenue-generating gallery and welcome center, transforming the Dotty Wotty house, and establishing rentable spaces to create an artist-in-residence program.
