Our gift guides have certainly evolved with the times and latest trends. Here’s a look back at some of our favorite items from our December Gift Guides over the years. (And don’t forget to check out the 2025 edition if you’re still trying to find the perfect gift for a special someone on your shopping list.)

Dr. Seuss-Inspired (2013)

Hour’s design team often channels their inner child when conceiving themes for the Gift Guide. The items on this page were not featured products but rather supplemented the “techie” spread in this feature titled “Over the Top Gifts.”

Barbie Gift Guide (2022)

We were ahead of the times with our Barbie-themed feature three years ago. This Gift Guide featured colorful and “out-of-this-world” products and was on newsstands when the teaser trailer for the hugely popular 2023 movie was released by Warner Bros.

Shinola Headphones (2018)

Shinola products have been a staple in our Gift Guide since 2013, the year the flagship store opened. In 2018, the Shinola Canfield on-ear headphones were featured with other products for “her.”

Marni Pumps (2020)

Marni’s ready-to-wear collections in 2020 were featured in Vogue, yet was anyone going out of the house to wear the items? Enter the Marni pump, billed as “fuzzy slippers” in the caption for this COVID-era Gift Guide. It was the perfect gift for the lady in your life who wanted to spend a comfy yet stylish New Year’s Eve at home.

iPod Socks (2005)

In the early aughts, not only could an iPod fit in your pocket, but a fully dressed one could, too! These fuzzy accessories came in colors to match your outfit, protected your screen from scratches, and could “stretch to fit everything from the tiny Nano to the larger models.”

Mice in Cigar Box (2015)

What do you get the man who has everything? Why, a cute bed for your Cubans, of course!

Men’s Cartier Watch (2009)

Many, many steps up from the Mice in a Cigar Box is this 18-karat gold Cartier Ballon Bleu automatic watch for $30,100. The price for a similar watch today is about $5,000 more.

Vertu Constellation (2006)

The year before Apple’s iPhone was released, we featured this product. For $6,200, you could dial up the weather, track flights, and more.
