Detroiters now have a new option to cure their midnight sweet tooth. Insomnia Cookies, the bakery chain that serves up warm cookies and milk late into the night, is opening its first location in the city — and its eighth in Michigan — on July 12.

Located near Wayne State University at 5171 Anthony Wayne Dr., the shop will carry the chain’s Classic Cookies, which include White Chocolate Macadamia, Sugar, Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter Chip, and more. There are also cookies — including a Gluten Free Chocolate Chip and Vegan Double Chocolate Chunk — for those with dietary restrictions. Meanwhile, Triple Chocolate, Salted Caramel, S’mores, Oatmeal Chocolate Walnut, Confetti Deluxe, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup make up the shop’s Deluxe Cookies lineup. Cookies can be purchased individually or in boxes of varying sizes.

Insomnia Cookies’ menu also features ice cream scoops and sundaes, brownies, ice cream sandwiches made with cookies, cookie cakes, and sides of icing. There are a number of combos and packs, too, including a DIY cookie sandwich kit, a cookies and milk duo, and Chillax Deluxe Pack with a quart of ice cream and six Deluxe Cookies.

Offering in-store ordering, pickup, and delivery, the Detroit shop will be open from noon to 1 a.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon to 3 a.m. on Friday.

To mark the opening of the new location, Insomnia Cookies is hosting an in-store celebration from July 12-17. During that time, all customers who visit or order delivery will receive one of the shop’s Classic Cookies at no cost.
