Oak & Reel
From Feb. 11-14, the Milwaukee Junction restaurant is offering both an à la carte menu and a five-course tasting menu for Valentine’s Day. À la carte options include agnolotti with veal breast, sweet breads, and wood-fire grilled turbot, and the tasting menu is $100 a person and includes “chef creations.” Oak & Reel, 2921 E. Metropolitan Bar & Kitchen
For Valentine’s Day, this new West Village restaurant and shop is hosting a dessert tasting menu event with pastry chef Lena Sareini on Feb. 12 and 13. Sareini was named Best New Chef by Food & Wine magazine in 2020 and is a James Beard Rising Star semifinalist. Keep an eye on Metropolitan’s social media for information on the menu and reservations. One-Eyed Betty’s
The Ferndale staple will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight on Feb. 14. Along with its usual menu, the restaurant is offering a Betty’s Dinner for the Lonely Hearts prix fixe menu. At $50 a person, the special includes pomegranate salad, a choice of short rib with hasselback potatoes and asparagus or Tuscan shrimp pasta with bread, strawberry shortcake, and your choice of beer in a Betty’s glass you can take home. San Morello
The Italian restaurant will be open the weekend before Valentine’s Day and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. Andiamo
Enjoy dinner and a show at Andiamo’s Phantom of the Opera Valentine’s experience. The Apparatus Room
At $125 a person, Apparatus Room’s Valentine’s Day menu kicks off with canapés like spinach and wild mushroom arancini and beef tartare, includes rolls and shaved root vegetable salad for starters, offers duck confit cannelloni as a mid-course, gives guests an entrée option of roasted sturgeon or duo of beef, and includes a dessert for the table. The Whitney
Named one of the top local restaurants for romantic dining in our 2021 Best of Detroit reader’s poll, The Whitney is offering a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu from Feb. 12-14. For $99 each, guests will enjoy music from a strolling violinist while experiencing a menu that includes items like lobster bisque, a choice of beef wellington, seafood sauté, filet mignon, and other main dishes, and seasonal appetizers. Frame
Hazel Park hot spot Frame is hosting a Valentine’s Day Old-School Steakhouse pop-up on Feb. 12 and 13 with Chef Michael Barrera. The menu includes a shrimp cocktail, steak tartare, wedge salad, an option of a 6 oz. petit filet mignon or 10 oz. N.Y. strip, sides, and a hot fudge sundae. Guests can reserve a spot inside Frame for $95 a person or pay $570 for a party of six in the yurts. Pop’s for Italian
This Ferndale restaurant is hosting a four-course Pop’s Cupid Dinner for two from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. The $100 dinner includes Caesar salad, choice of appetizer, choice of handmade pasta, and one shared dessert and a bottle of wine. West Village restaurant Marrow is offering two dining options this Valentine’s Day. For $150, diners can get a to-go meal kit for two that includes a shrimp cocktail, kale Caesar, crab pot pie, beef wellington, and chocolate cake. Orders include heating instructions and may be picked up on Feb. 13. And from Feb. 10-14 at the restaurant, diners can enjoy a Valentine’s Day menu for $100 per person that includes hors d’oeuvres like oysters Rockefeller, a tuna melt, ham salad, spinach-artichoke dip, meatloaf, a Coney dog with crab legs, banana cream pie, and a milkshake.
