Cocktail Recipe: Your Grandfather’s Coffee


With Michigan winters being as cold as they are, sometimes a bit of coffee isn’t enough to get you going in the morning. Try this little pick-me-up on weekends to take on the day with a happy belly and a warm smile.

1 ½ ounces Michigan bourbon
¾ ounce fresh squeezed apple juice (or use cider)
½ ounce cold brew coffee
¼ ounce simple syrup
Lemon peel and apple slice

Shake all liquid contents together with ice and strain into a rocks glass with a large cube of ice.

Express the oils of a lemon peel over top and garnish with an apple slice.
