Local sources provide most of the raw materials for promising young chef James Rigato, who, with proprietor Ed Mamou, is putting White Lake Township on the dining map. The interesting Midwestern-style American menu reflects the seasons. Well-spaced tables in a contemporary but unpretentious dining room and bar offer glimpses of the open kitchen, where just about everything — including the hamburger buns — is made from scratch.

This restaurant in downtown’s Campus Martius Park (the year-round oasis in the heart of downtown), has been revived and refreshed with a spruced-up setting, a French-influenced menu with steak frites and steamed mussels (appropriate to the city’s heritage), a bar serving wine and cocktails, and friendly service.
