Mary Davidson spent the fall semester as an editorial intern for Hour Detroit. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in publishing from Pace University in New York. In her free time, you can find Davidson cheering on her alma mater, Michigan State University, or walking the aisles of a book store hoping to find the next great novel. A lifelong Michigan resident, Davidson is always on the lookout for new bars and restaurants in search of the perfect cocktail.
Michelle and Chris Gerard
Michelle and Chris Gerard are photographers residing and working in Detroit. While each of them has a unique style in their personal work, it’s their collaboration that results in a distinctive look, different from their individual photos. The passion the Gerards have for the city has led them to work with many Detroit businesses, nonprofits, and publications, and to create storytelling images on a daily basis. See their take on Midtown’s annual Noel Night here.
Terri Powys is a senior at Michigan State University with a major in journalism and a minor in graphic design. After graduation, she plans to move to New York City to pursue a career as a visual journalist. Inspired by publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Complex, her dream job would be to review new album releases, interview up-and-coming artists, and to curate playlists for audiences of music streaming services. Outside of classes, Powys is consumed by finding vegetarian recipes, reading astrology, and collecting records to listen to with her kitten, Queen Sheba.
