While each of them has a unique style in their personal work, it’s their collaboration that results in a distinctive look, different from their individual photos. The passion the Gerards have for the city has led them to work with many Detroit businesses, nonprofits, and publications, and to create storytelling images on a daily basis.  | Terri PowysTerri Powys is a senior at Michigan State University with a major in journalism and a minor in graphic design. After graduation, she plans to move to New York City to pursue a career as a visual journalist. Inspired by publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Complex, her dream job would be to review new album releases, interview up-and-coming artists, and to curate playlists for audiences of music streaming services. Outside of classes, Powys is consumed by finding vegetarian recipes, reading astrology, and collecting records to listen to with her kitten, Queen Sheba. | |
 | Rebecca VoigtRebecca Voigt has been producing fashion editorials for Hour Detroit as the magazine’s style editor for five years. Her first feature for the magazine starred a femme fatale and a few Russian gangsters. She has since dressed everything from mermaids to hairless cats. For this issue, she curated a selection of the season’s must-have women’s coats. Before her tenure at Hour, Voigt’s work appeared in local, national, and international publications, including 944, La’G, BG, Clear, Prim, Cliche, and Hint. She is also the editor for Hour’s sister magazine, Metro Detroit Weddings. |
