Right at the edge of Grosse Pointe and Detroit sits My Dad’s Bar. The small, divey gem is filled with vintage tables, kitschy posters, and a jukebox and celebrates dear old dad seven days a week. In honor of Father’s Day, June 16, there’s no bar more fitting for this month’s cocktail recipe. Affectionately termed The Dadhattan, it’s reminiscent of a Manhattan that’s simple to make and mildly sweet. Sound like someone you know? Grab a couple of chilled glasses this Father’s Day — or any day — and enjoy this drink with your old man.
Ingredients
3 oz. Old Grandad
¾ oz. Donlin Sweet Vermouth
5 dashes Angostura bitters
Luxardo maraschino cherries
Directions
Add ice to a chilled rocks glass. Pour ingredients into the glass, stir, and garnish with Luxardo maraschino cherries. Sit back and enjoy The Dadhattan.
